The merger of BrokerStar and Brokinsoft creates a new market leader for broker software in Switzerland under the umbrella of Vierwald Software AG. Brokin Software Group AG intends to bundle its technological strengths, invest in AI-supported automation and thus decisively advance the digital transformation of insurance brokers. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interview with Peter Nessensohn, Managing Director of Vierwald Software AG.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Nessensohn, what was the decisive strategic reason for the merger of BrokerStar<\/a> and Brokinsoft<\/a>?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

First of all, Brokinsoft is a great company. With its product, team and customers, it would have enjoyed great success on the market indefinitely even without the takeover. The founder Dominique Chappot has built up the company with heart and soul and has been supported by his son Tifaine for several years. We would therefore have been happy to take over Brokinsoft without also owning WMC. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now, however, we have a unique strategic opportunity. We are now the largest provider of broker software in Switzerland. This means that we can invest the most resources in the further development of our solutions and thus offer the best product and the best service in the long term. The respective focus on French-speaking and German-speaking Switzerland is also very attractive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is highly relevant with regard to the AI revolution in the software market, as massive investments will be required here in the future and the new size will therefore be very helpful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What specific synergies do you expect from combining the two platforms?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

In principle, the companies will continue to work separately and develop their core products independently. However, the following synergies are exciting: <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Brokinsoft and Brokerstar have special modules\/functions that the other solution does not have. We will make these available to all customers in the near future. One example is the AI scan module of Brokinsoft. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Future product developments can now be carried out jointly, which means that as of last week we have twice as many development resources as in the past. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With our support, we now cover the whole of Switzerland in terms of language and geography without any problems<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s the way it is in the software business: If you develop a product once, you can sell it as often as you like. If the distribution channel now doubles, investments will make much more sense in the future. This is particularly true for AI developments, which require high initial investments but pay for themselves much faster with a larger customer base. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both solutions remain independent, but how do you ensure joint further development?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

The core products Brokerstar and Brokinsoft are developed and maintained independently. When we develop a new AI module, for example for automatic email classification, it is designed in such a way that it can be integrated into both platforms. The investment is made once and the benefits are doubled. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does the new market leadership mean for Swiss brokers on a day-to-day basis?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Our customers are the big winners of this merger. Initially, nothing will change for them in their everyday lives. In future, however, our products will create significantly greater added value than in the past thanks to joint further development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What role does artificial intelligence play in your future product strategy?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

A huge one. So much has happened in this area, especially in recent months. In Julius Janda<\/a>, we have an absolute expert in this field on board, who will be even more involved in the future than in the past. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are basically two main areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Firstly, classic software development is significantly simplified by programs such as “Claude Code”, so that we will be able to deliver many more products and improvements with the same effort in future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Secondly, a variety of functions will be built into Brokerstar & Brokinsoft in the future, which will take over the work of the person in front of the display and thus save a lot of time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You talk about AI agents: can you specify which use cases brokers can expect?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

There are many use cases and we will use job shadowing to identify many more. Imagine, for example, an assistant that identifies and suggests promising customers and measures for you on a daily basis, creates personalized follow-up emails, summarizes the history and communication history of a contact when you open it, transcribes your calls and fills in fields in the system based on this, or automatically creates a year-end report for each customer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

How quickly will customers see the first AI-based functions in the systems?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Brokinsoft has the edge here, as they are already in use. Brokerstar will follow suit in the coming months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What investments are necessary to implement this innovation strategy?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Every year, we invest a seven-figure sum in the further development of our products and will continue to do so in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How are existing customers reacting to the announcement of the merger?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

The reactions were generally very positive. For existing customers, nothing will change for the time being and the product will be greatly improved in the future. So there are actually no disadvantages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our Vierwald Software AG now combines the experience of 10 specialist software companies. Customers can therefore rest assured that they will continue to be in good hands in the future. This gives major customers in particular, some of whom we have, a sense of security. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What challenges do you see in the integration of two established providers?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

We are not integrating the companies. The employees, the offices, the core products and the brands remain independent. We only cooperate on new developments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The professionalism of both teams is extremely high, which is why we don’t expect any major challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How will this move change competition in the Swiss broker software market?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Competition is still very strong. Our competitors will probably also invest a lot in further development in the future. The winners in this development are the brokers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where do you see Brokin Software Group AG in the European context in three to five years’ time?<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

In the software sector, it is best to be a specialist in a country’s industry. In Germany, for example, there are completely different regulatory requirements that we are not at all familiar with. We will therefore probably remain exclusively in Switzerland. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
