Technological advances, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence and data-driven analyses, are enabling more precise risk assessment and more informed decisions. For SMEs in particular, this opens up new opportunities to systematically manage risks and strengthen their resilience.

https://spotifycreators-web.app.link/e/rs5eOOKnV1b

At the same time, cyber resilience is becoming increasingly important. Large-scale exercises and cross-sector cooperation show that companies need to develop their defence mechanisms not only technically, but also organizationally. The aim is to detect attacks at an early stage and minimize their impact.

Geopolitics exacerbates cyber threats

Increasing geopolitical tensions are having a direct impact on the risk landscape. State-influenced cyber attacks on critical infrastructure such as energy and financial systems in particular are on the rise. Companies are therefore under increasing pressure to continuously adapt their security strategies.

In addition to technological solutions, the focus is also shifting to the preparation of incident response teams. The ability to react quickly and in a coordinated manner in an emergency is crucial in order to ensure the company’s ability to function.

ESG between regulation and integration

A clear transformation process is also evident in the area of ESG. Although sustainability reporting is still heavily influenced by regulatory requirements, the integration of ESG criteria into company-wide risk management is increasing.

Challenges exist in particular in the collection and standardization of data, for example in the area of Scope 3 emissions. At the same time, instruments such as climate scenario analyses are becoming increasingly important, for example as part of the ORSA processes. ESG is thus gradually developing from a reporting obligation into a strategic management tool.

Broker market undergoing structural change

Digitalization and new regulatory frameworks are fundamentally changing insurance sales. In Switzerland, self-distribution by insurers is becoming increasingly important, while platform solutions are reducing the administrative burden for brokers and creating new efficiency potential.

These developments point to a hybrid model in which digital processes and personal advice are increasingly merging. Specialized brokers will retain an important role, but will have to differentiate themselves more strongly.

Consolidation characterizes the Swiss market

The Swiss broker market is facing a phase of consolidation. Reasons for this include the generational change and increasing regulatory requirements. At the same time, international brokerage houses are showing increasing interest in the stable Swiss market, particularly in the SME segment.

Technological innovations, such as the use of artificial intelligence in risk analysis and product design, further increase the pressure to adapt. Insurers such as AXA Switzerland are actively driving this development forward in order to meet rising customer expectations.

Strategic implications for companies

Current developments make it clear that companies need to manage risks holistically and with foresight. Cyber resilience, ESG integration and digital transformation are no longer isolated issues, but are closely interlinked.

For insurers, brokers and companies, this means continuously developing their strategies with the aim of remaining capable of acting in an increasingly complex and dynamic environment.

Binci Heeb

Read also: LBC Insurance Radar #12: AI, cyber, analytics – risks are becoming a top priority

The latest “LBC Insurance Radar” shows how the insurance industry is realigning itself: Cyber risks, ESG requirements and structural changes in the broker market are driving a transformation in which […]

[5100,5134,5139
6509,9412,9444,7416,10079,11293,6001,11294,11292
post-27092","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-current","category-general","category-podcasts-en","tag-broker-en","tag-consolidation","tag-geopolitics","tag-integration-en","tag-lbc-insurance-radar","tag-orsa-processes","tag-regulation-en","tag-strategic-implications","tag-tightening
["GET
