In today’s episode of the “Empowering Women” podcast, we welcome Andreea Prange from AXA. In conversation with Mirela Dimofte and Binci Heeb, we discuss how financial inclusion and equality are essential for women’s personal and professional development. Andreea gives insights into her career, her role as a leader and her tireless commitment to equality and opportunity in the insurance industry.
Andreea is not only a successful insurance expert, but also a mother of two and a role model for many women in the industry. After more than ten years in telecommunications and her current position as Head Customer Experience & Strategy at AXA, where she is responsible for strategy, customers and marketing, she reflects on the motivation behind her commitment. “The financial sector has the power to change lives,” she says.
The importance of financial inclusion
A central topic of discussion is financial inclusion, particularly in relation to women. Alarming statistics are cited: 1.4 billion people worldwide are “unbanked”, including 740 million women. This reality shows how important it is to promote access to financial services for women. Andreea emphasizes that financial education is crucial not only for women, but for all generations and genders.
Breaking down prejudices: Financial education in schools
Andreea sees a lot of catching up to do when it comes to financial education, especially in schools. “Children need to learn how to draw up a budget, plan financially and invest,” she explains. These skills are also very important for adults in order to be confident in handling money and pursue clear financial goals. She appeals to parents to create transparency about their own finances so that children learn to take responsibility from an early age.
Gender equality: challenges and progress
Gender equality also comes up in the conversation. Andreea emphasizes that there are still high expectations of working mothers in society and that they are not always treated fairly. “We have to fight to ensure that both men and women have the same opportunities,” she explains. She praises the progress made in companies, but also sees that there is still a lot to do.
AXA: Pioneer for the advancement of women in the insurance industry
Andreea emphasizes how AXA actively contributes to the advancement of women. From mentoring programs to flexible working time models – AXA is committed to creating a modern and equal working environment. Another important point is support in sport: “We sponsor women’s football because we demand equality in all areas,” she says.
The interview with Andreea Prange impressively demonstrates how important financial inclusion and equality are for society as a whole. Her enthusiasm for the topic and her commitment to inspiring other women as a role model is infectious. The insurance industry has a responsibility to promote inclusion and diversity and to develop solutions that benefit everyone. With this mission, she is a shining example of the positive change that is possible.
