To mark its anniversary, the Pax Cooperative is launching “Pax Care,” a free insurance plan available throughout Switzerland that provides CHF 2,000 in emergency assistance in the event of death and personal support for family members.

Since 1876, Pax has stood for the principle of mutual support. What began as a promise among cooperative members remains true to this day. In its anniversary year, Pax is carrying this idea forward with an offering that is unique in Switzerland: Pax Care is a free emergency assistance service that quickly provides relief to family members during difficult times while also offering an accessible entry point into personal retirement planning.

What Pax Care Actually Does

“The hardest part of planning for the future is often getting started,” says Yvonne Häring, Head of Products & Actuarial Services at Pax. “That’s exactly what we make free and easy.” Activation takes place online in just a few steps. In the event of death, Pax pays an emergency benefit of CHF 2,000 to cover initial expenses. In addition, specialists support the bereaved with up to two hours of personal consultation on organizational and administrative matters, as well as a structured checklist and contacts for regional service providers.

Open to everyone

Pax Care is available to anyone living in Switzerland between the ages of 18 and 64, regardless of whether they are already Pax customers. People who have reached the reference retirement age of 65 can find advice on topics such as continuing to work after retirement, financial planning for old age, and estate planning in Pax’s “Vorsorgewelt,” which is also free of charge.
