Simplifai expands AI platform for insurers

The Norwegian insurtech provider Simplifai is launching a new generation of document intelligence on the market. The solution is designed to speed up claims processes in property insurance and significantly simplify the handling of complex documents.

Simplifai has unveiled a major update to its AI platform for general insurers. The new “Document Intelligence” technology enables insurers, TPAs and MGAs to integrate new document types into the platform within minutes. At the same time, AI agents will also be able to process complex and unstructured documents much more precisely in future.

Focus on complex claims documents

According to the company, the new solution marks a further development of previous AI approaches in the insurance sector. While traditional machine learning models would have caused high maintenance costs and large language models (LLMs) often reached their limits with handwritten or poorly structured documents, Simplifai now combines both technologies with components specially developed for insurance companies.

The platform processes handwritten police reports, European accident reports, medical documents, damage photos and multilingual correspondence, among other things. The aim is to achieve almost “zero-shot” document recognition – i.e. a high level of accuracy without time-consuming training for each individual document type.

Less administration in claims management

Simplifai points out that claims processors currently spend up to 40 percent of their working time on administrative document processes. The new platform is designed to automate these processes and improve the quality of data capture at the same time.

The solution classifies and analyzes structured, semi-structured and unstructured documents and automatically links content within a claim. Confidence scores are also displayed for each AI evaluation so that critical cases can still be reviewed by employees.

Expansion of the “Agentic Insurance System”

With this update, Simplifai is pursuing the expansion of its “Agentic Insurance System”. This is an AI platform in which specialized AI agents are to take over tasks along the entire insurance value chain – from the automation of repetitive activities to the semi-autonomous handling of complete processes.

The focus is currently on claims processes in the areas of motor vehicle, property and travel insurance. Further product updates with additional functions have been announced for 2026.
